On the Bookshelf

The best room in our house is the library.

Currently on a fiction break from biographies and devotional-type books.

Seven Women: And the Secret of their Greatness by Eric Metaxas : Short biographies of Christian women. Some familiar and some unknown women. Fantastic.

Rose from Brier by Amy Carmichael : A book about pain written by one in pain. Carmichael can be hard to read due to her Victorian and often poetic style but she’s totally worth it.

Being There by Dave Furman : A book for those taking care of the caretakers. Great read and recommended.

Gold by Moonlight by Amy Carmichael : A book about the ups and downs of trials. Highly recommended.

Keep a Quiet Heart by Elisabeth Elliot : A book of various articles by Elisabeth about keeping anxiety in it’s rightful place. Highly recommended.
